Press Statement: TransAfrica acknowledges the efforts to free Colombian hostages
January 10, 2008

TransAfrica Forum is encouraged by the safe release of two Colombian hostages and acknowledges the work of the Venezuelan government and Colombian Senator Piedad Cordoba to ensure the peaceful humanitarian exchange in Colombia. After months of exhaustive negotiations, Clara Rojas and Consuelo Gonzalez were released Thursday to the Venezuelan government by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
